A ceremony was held at Hu-Zhou City in Jiangsu on Jan 7 for the contract-signing of Hu-Zhou Industrial Biotech Center of Shanghai Institutes for Biological Sciences, Chinese Academy Sciences (CAS).

On behalf of Dr. Pei Gang (Dean of SIBS), Dr. Chen Xia-Ya， Director of SIPPE， as well as deputation of SIBS, signed a collaboration agreement and memorandum with Mr. Pu Chun, Deputy Mayor of Hu-Zhou City. Drs. Gan Rong-Xing (deputy dean of SIBS) and Xue Hong-Wei (Deputy Director of SIPPE) also attended the ceremony.

According to the industry structure of Hu-Zhou, the Center will focus on developing industrial biotech, aiming at research innovation and product industrialization. Eventually the Center will promote the re-organization and upgrade of biotech industry in Hu-Zhou and the surrounding Yangtze Triangle.
