The First Announcement of Scientific Reasoning and Logic, a Featured Mini-course by Dr. Sheila McCormick
Time: 9 a.m.-10:30 a.m. on Oct 26 (Mon), 28 (Wed), 30 (Fri), Nov 3 (Tues) and 5 (Thurs). Location: 300 Fenglin Rd. SIPPE new building, first floor (room to be announced)
Objectives of the mini-course: Teach students to critically read and interpret scientific papers, to write clearly, to think creatively; and to improve English and presentation skills
Language: English.
Expected attendees: Graduate students of SIBS (above second year is preferred); postdocs of SIBS; other young scientists in SIPPE who are interested. Pre-enrollment is required because there is a limit of 16 attendees.

Be prepared for a lot of homework (writing and editing exercises), and be prepared to participate in class discussions, brainstorming sessions (e.g., in designing experiments) and short presentations. If you can not attend all the sessions and do the homework, please do not register.
