Post-doctoral research associate available in the Kameoka lab
Applications are invited for Post-doctoral research associate position in the group of Dr. Hiromu Kameoka at China Academy of Science (CAS) Center for Excellence in Molecular Plant Sciences (CEMPS). Our group is also belongs to Centre of Excellence for Plant and Microbial Science (CEPAMS), a CAS-John Innes Centre (JIC) joint research centre.
Job Description
Arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) symbiosis started shortly after plant terrestrialization and is currently conserved in more than 70% of land plants. Thus, the elucidation of AM symbiosis is important for understanding plant physiology, ecology, and evolution. We are working on AM symbiosis, focusing on the signalling molecules. We use an integrated approach combining genetics, molecular biology, bioinformatics, and natural product chemistry.
The successful candidate will participate in projects related to AM symbiosis with genetics, molecular biology, bioinformatics, and/or natural product chemistry, depending on his/her skills and motivation. The candidate can also apply grants and work independently on his/her own projects.
Duration: 2-year fixed term in the first instance
Salary: 200,000–250,000 CNY/year
Place: CAS Center for Excellence in Molecular Plant Sciences, Shanghai, China
Qualifications
We are looking for a candidate who has a Ph.D. in biology, chemistry, or any other related research discipline. Basic English speaking, reading, and writing skills and good communication and interpersonal skills are essential. The expertise and skills in plant biology are not essential. Any of the following expertise and skills are desirable but not essential;
a. identification, analysis, or synthesis of natural products.
b. physiological experiments with arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi.
c. in vitro biochemical experiments with recombinant proteins.
